Real Estate Investing...FINALLY!
Hello all! I am LaKesha Raynor. I am new to Bigger Pockets. I am a new wholesaler in the Dallas, TX area who has finally decided to live my 20 year dream of real estate investing.
I stumbled upon this website after seeing @Priscilla Z's post on "IFlip - Cameron Dunlap?" It was a nearly 3 year dialog about what she experienced by using his system. Since I had recently attended his webinar, I was naturally curious. I didn't sign up with Cameron. Not because of anything that was said in Priscilla's post but what I did do was sign up with BiggerPockets.
Interestingly, last weekend after seeing the free info on this site, a friend and I went to a seminar that was being hosted in our area by a local investment group. We were ready to get started and believed that we needed to pay a lot to get the "relationships" that we needed to learn what to do.
Fortunately for us, we both did not take any money with us to the seminar...so again I came home and there was BiggerPockets with my first newsletter email with articles like "Don’t Start Wholesaling Until You Read This: Wholesale Advice from a Fix and Flipper" and "How to Start Wholesaling: Getting Past The Education and Into the Field". I was amazed at the wealth of knowledge that I saw here...for free. So I did invest that day...not in the seminar place but here at BiggerPockets. Signing up for the Pro Basic was a no brainer. I quickly told my friend about it. I forwarded her the blog posts. And then I went to work on my business plan (inspired by one I found on BiggerPockets).
That was 4 days ago. I gave myself a deadline. I want to get started on my first property in the next 30 days. But this week's goal was writing this intro. I love what @Brandon Turner said in his blog post, "get connected with some local buyers". So that's exactly what I want to do.
I want to find a seasoned investor that wants to teach a wholesaler who is still green what THEY are looking for. Would also love to connect with some local contractors, real estate agents and others in the real estate field that just want to share their knowledge from a local perspective so I can really begin to build my networking community. Although, I state I want to network with the local people, I know that good knowledge can come from any area. So I would love to learn more from those outside of my community as well.
Happy Investing!
