Hello Biggerpockets’ community!

My name is Eddy, and I moved to the U.S. 3 years ago knowing only a few words of English. I was working in a local organic produce store in Paris, France, probably destined for a long, monotone, boring life when I went on a roadtrip in California in 2016 that would change my life. When I discovered this place, the culture, the landscapes, the people, and so much more, I was decided to get out of my comfort zone and give my life a fresh start. I looked for ways that could allow me to come to the states, and the only one was to go back to school, get a degree, intern, and eventually (hopefully) get hired to be able to stay here. Along the road since I moved, I discovered that I had set myself a lot of barriers and limits as to what I was capable of, and what I could achieve.

Most importantly (and this is the reason I am here), I discovered real estate, which I decided to pursue as my major at CSU Northridge. So far, I have listened to more than a hundred Biggerpockets’ podcasts, attended to some webinars, read a lot about real estate; overall I try to get as much information as I can on the subject.

Today, I am certain that I will build wealth through real estate investing, although getting started is very challenging as I am not a permanent resident, with a newly credit score, no income yet, and no capital. Despite all obstacles, I am positive that my dream will come true with my persistence.

If any of you has ever met an international student getting into real estate investing in the U.S., I would be glad to hear the story.

Also, the strategy that I will follow will be buy and hold, starting with single or multifamily, and I want to scale to small apartments in the future.

I look forward to connect with this incredible community of passionate people!
