Looking to get started in out of state investing

Hello everyone, my name is Rico and I'm currently burned out at my current job (Web Developer) and looking to get started in real estate investing. I have been listening to the podcast on this site and currently on episode #122. I try to listened to about 2-4 episodes per day, while also looking at properties via Zillow and Redfin and using the Rental Property Calculator to analyze properties. I also have been listening to multiple audio books about real estate investing. I currently live in Santa Barbara county and would like to meet locals or someone from the bigger pockets community to help me get started. I'm currently waiting to build more equity in my home to purchase my first rental. My goal is to do it by October of this year. I would like to meet someone where we can have a one to one chat on how to get started. What tasks I can do now to help me start on the right foot. I believe I'm a charismatic, hardworking person and willing to do a coffee shop meet or chat here in the community about your experiences on how you got started. This is my biggest blocker since I have no experience in real estate and would like some ideas on how to build a team to make my first purchase and eventually reach my goal.

Thank you

Ricardo (Rico) Peinado
