Yet Another New Austin Member......

I feel a bit like a broken record here because there have been so many new members posting from Austin recently, but add one more to the list. I've been reading the forums for a little over a month and decided it was best to make my introductions. This site is such a great source of information for someone just getting started like myself.

I currently own a house in South Austin a couple minutes from downtown and am currently looking to purchase my first investment rental. I'm looking to buy a 3/2 or 3/1 SFR in the greater Austin area (mostly looking in East / South Austin) for long-term hold. Would ideally like to purchase a property once or twice a year thereafter for the next couple of years, at least that's my tentative plan at this point.

As other members have stated recently, Austin is BOOMING right now. To give you an idea, I looked at a place Saturday that went on the market a day prior and by Sunday it was already under contract. I'm realizing I need to move fast if I find something I like, which as a generally cautious person making my first investment like this it can be a little overwhelming. I'm going to keep looking though until I find the right fit.

Anyways, looking forward to learning from everyone here and hopefully being able to contribute a little myself at some point.

Cheers!
