18 years old looking to get started wholesaling

Hello everybody, I"m new to BP and first wanted introduce myself. My name's Jonathan and I'm 18 years old living in South Florida. I recently came across the idea of becoming a real estate investor from a commercial I heard on the radio a few months back. Soon after, I went to a seminar and instantly fell in love with the idea and have been pursuing it since. I've been dedicating the majority of my time to learning everything I can about real estate and also working towards becoming a real estate agent (almost finished with 63 hr course). Everything I've learned so far fascinates me and shows me that my dreams are possible without having to spend years in college like everyone seems to want me to do. The way that I think and behave will not mesh well with the standard path people take (college -> internship -> decent job -> work until 63 -> retire), I feel like I would be doing myself and the people around me as well as my future family a disservice by going that route. I want to begin building something great that will eventually pass onto my children and grant them the financial security that I was raised without. I've been able to save a bit of money from my job in construction and have been searching for opportunities to invest. Unfortunately it isn't enough to do something big in real estate but I plan to start small. I plan on building a business revolving around wholesaling in order to build capital to invest in bigger things but also to help out family when possible. My long term goal right now is to have a portfolio of rental properties large enough to provide me enough passive income to be secure and to provide. I would like to have this done by 40 and retire although I'd probably be keeping myself busy in other ventures.

Anyways, I look forward to being a part of this great community and interacting with you all. Its been nice writing this and being able to speak to like minded people. Have a wonderful day everyone :)
