Hello BP! I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself! Excited to meet all of the awesome people here.

My name is Tom Laskey, and I'm a newbie from Atlanta! I have been recently consuming as much real estate knowledge as possible, and hope to purchase my first house hack with my investing partner in the next 2 months. I plan on repeating house hacks for a few years, before venturing further into multifamily rental property investing, possibly with some flipping as well! I'm currently a full time professional musician here in ATL, making my living as a touring and studio guitarist, as well as music educator. I am more than excited about the opportunity and lessons REI will provide for me. Can't wait to hear from you all!

Hey @Thomas Laskey! First off, welcome to the BP community!

I, too, am searching for my first house hack. I am currently looking in Gwinnett and Cobb. What areas are you looking? Also, which strategy are you thinking? I highly recommend reading Craig Curelop's The House Hacking Strategy if you have not already. He also has a fantastic bp episode

And definitely start getting out to as many meet ups as you can. Being active here on BP won't hurt either!

@Brenden Mitchum Hey Brenden! Currently about halfway through that very book, and looking in different locations now. Im hoping to go with the strategy of a fourplex, renting out 3 units. How has the search been going for you?

    @Thomas Laskey

    Nice man! A quad house hack, in my mind, is the ultimate way to house hack, especially if you can rent out some rooms in your own unit too.

    The search has been slow. Atlanta is red hot and there are not a ton of small multifamily so they go real quick and for inflated prices when they do pop up. I will likely just go the SF route with a mother-in-law suite or something.

    Taking a short break to get my real estate license though so hoping to pick back up on the search in a few weeks.

    Have you begun looking yet? Any idea what area you want to be in?
