Hi Susan Barnett, Thanks for introducing yourself! I'm the Social Media guy here for BiggerPockets, so in answer to your question: I'm using social media for almost my entire business! But for my real estate investing, I actually became a member of BiggerPockets after searching for help on "what to do when tenants don't pay" - and the answers I found made me confident enough to pursue real estate investing as a career at 21 years old. I wrote more about that in an article I called,

So, in essence, networking with BiggerPockets and the social aspect was responsible for nearly every bit of real estate I have today - which is why I think I make a nice cheerleader for BiggerPockets, and like that old Hair Club for men slogan - I'm not just a community manager, I'm also a user :)
