New Investor - From NYC

Hello all my name is David Heinzerling from NYC. I have been in the retail commercial leasing game for 4.5 years (shopping malls, shopping centers, restaurant and street leasing) as a real estate salesperson. I am looking to get into the residential ownership game in NJ, CT, NY and other markets (that make sense) as the bricks and mortar retail game is getting reinvented with no surety it will be in existence during my children's lifetime (Amazon is changing the world).

I am looking to make connections in the NYC/NJ area and start making the proper moves to own my first building by end of year (probably looking to buy a duplex)! I am interested in learning everything about the foreclosure, flipping and rehab games. Where that takes me I will see. Looking forward.

Thanks!

David

Welcome, @David Heinzerling.  I live in NYC as well.  Let me know if I can help with anything.  When I started buying rentals, I started in Philly because it's close.  And the landlord laws, taxes and cap rates are much better than NYC.
