Newbie in Bay Area CA

Hello BiggerPockets!

My name is Cody and I'm a newbie in real estate and currently have no investments to my name.  I have done a bit of reading so I am familiar with a lot of the terminology and methodology of investing.  Now I am ready to get my feet wet and to start learning firsthand.  I am currently living in the Bay Area but have lived in the Midwest aswell.  I'm looking to invest in SFP and potentially Househacking.  For the SFPs I would be looking out of state I have an interest in the Florida market (Tampa to Orlando and in between) and Midwest.  For my househacking aspirations that would be undertaken in California.  My long term goal is to be able to quit my job (still would want to work but at pursuits that I thoroughly enjoy and not have to be reliant on an income initially) and have an income that supports my living & travel throughout the world.  I would like to be able to have a very comfortable retirement.  I've come to join BiggerPockets after listening to a few podcasts and reading Brandon Turner's super informative book on Rental Property Investing.  I can't wait to meet all of you inspirational people!
