Newbie to the investing world

I sold my business and I am interested In buying property for rental purposes.  I first wanted a vacation home in Orlando to also use whenever i go visit and it being a huge touristic area i felt like it was a good idea; but I feel like something i am able to drive to as my first time is ideal.  I have been looking in PA (Scranton, Harrisburg, Reading, Allentown) since their prices are more doable for me with hopes of continuing to purchase more properties in the future.  I am hoping I can pick someone's brain in this journey I am ready to take.
