Newbie California Real Estate Refugee

Hi everyone! I'm Haley Nicole. I love real estate and houses, and even finished the CA licensing program, but backed out when it was time to test. I've wanted to own a house or small community forever, to optimize the land and just create a really beautiful place to live. (I'm interested in permaculture and regenerative practices.)

Anyway, California being what we all know it is, I'm coming around to the fact that isn't going to happen for me here any time soon, and found BP in a search to expand my horizons. I hate the thought of leaving my city, but I hate dumping half my money into a modest rental and witnessing the massive poverty around me more. Its an out of control dystopian nightmare, and its getting to me.

I'm chatty and eager to talk to and learn from anyone, but especially people who have been in my particular situation, and know that feeling of not being able to stay where youre from -unless youre ok with lifetime serfdom.

I'm looking to househack or duplex somewhere I wouldn't mind living, at least part time or temporarily. That has me thinking places like Miami,(beach)  Houston, (diversity) etc. From reading the massive collection of articles, forums, and stats here, I'm open to the possibility that I might not have to move. But I really long to have something that is my own, whether I occupy it or not.

Thanks for reading my story everyone, I look forward to learning from all of you!
