Hello everyone! My name is Diana, I've been a BP member since September, my focus is fix & flips. But I eventually want to invest in real estate using the BRRRR method. My first "encounter" with real estate investing was around 2004 when I read "Rich Dad Poor Dad", but I was living in the middle of nowhere at the time and then family obligations put things on hold for me.

I revisited the idea two more times (2007 & 2010) but hit roadblocks, got discouraged, and decided to work on my college education, get a cosmetology license, open up a small makeup boutique (which is now closed) & focus on my three student athletes.

After I closed up my boutique and my youngest packed up for college last summer, I was like "now what"? I decided that I needed to work on my exit plan from my current job and I bought this interesting book called "How to Invest in Real Estate: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Getting Started" which led me to finding this forum and the BP podcast (I try to listen to daily--it's a great distraction from traffic driving home from work). Since then, I've joined my local REIA, connected with a couple of realtors, investors, wholesalers, contractors, lenders, and will get to see the flip process firsthand this month. I feel it took me forever to get here. So I'm super excited for this journey and the next stage of my life!

Hi Diana, I am new as well but will not steal your thunder with my own intro.  Looking forward to this next step and would love to connect to anyone everyone in the San Antonio area.
