Hey everybody,

My name is Maurice but I go by Reece. I’m 31 years old. I was born and raised in Kansas City and it's where I currently reside. I'm married with two kids. When I'm not spending time with my family, I enjoy working out and traveling. In the past 12 months we've been to Grenada, Turks & Caicos and the Dominican Republic. Up until last year, I spent my entire adult life (11 years) working in corporate america. I grew tired of working to make another man rich so I came up with an exit strategy. In December, 2017, I told my wife that I was going to save up enough money to quit my job in a year. She didn’t believe me. But, exactly one year later, I managed to save 100 grand, I put in my two weeks notice and we officially started our real estate investment business, M&J Investment Group, in January of 2019.

Our main focus is small multi-family rental properties in the Kansas City area. I'll be switching that focus to the SoCal area once we move there in August, 2020. I have a lot of experience with home repairs and maintenance, as I've done majority of the work in my own home for the past decade. That includes everything from replacing toilets and drywall to laying carpet and tile. I'm a very hands-on guy who would rather save money and do the work myself than pay someone else to do it for me.

I'm looking to partner with other investors for my first few deals. Ideally, this would be someone who’s ready to fund a deal but doesn’t want (or know how) to manage the property. Also, it could be someone who doesn’t want to spend the time finding a deal. These are things that I love to do!

I would also love to link up with any local landlords.

I look forward to meeting a lot of great people! Feel free to reply in the comments or send me a message. I check the forums several times a day so I’ll respond pretty quickly.

Hey Maurice -

I'm pretty new to this game as well other than the quick flip turned buy and hold that I reference in my profile.  I think we share similar interests from a niche perspective.  I'm looking for multi-unit properties that need a little work and am open to anywhere within about 2 hours of the Kansas City metro.  I'm still doing a lot of learning so not sure that I'm the best candidate to partner with but would be interested in connecting.
