Crowd Funding Websites Reviews/Experience

Hello, I am a new member living in St. Louis MO!

I am finally posting my first BP forum post, and I am extremely excited to start getting engaged in the conversations.

Does anyone have experience with crowd funding websites such as Fundrise.com, Realtyshares.com, or Fundthatflip.com? I am starting to look into ways I can invest in real estate with not a lot of cash, and have read about these sites that seem legit at first glance. Do all of these sites work the same way? If the final project does not make a profit, does that mean I lose all my investment? Is this a good way to invest in real estate?

I would love to get any sort of explanation or insight from someone that uses/has used one of these sites as an investor or borrower.
