Howdy from a DFW Newbie

I'm Greg from the Dallas, TX area and I am completely new to REI so was very happy to find biggerpockets. I have been interested in getting into real estate investment and I'm learning as much as I can. My brother, also a noob, recent came into a few rental properties and we are talking about partnering up and taking this journey together. I plan to start checking out local REI group events to start networking and learning before locking in on a strategy and making my first purchase. I have a little capital to start with but also a decent amount of equity in my primary residence. I will probably be looking at HELOC as I want to keep my 2.75% rate on my primary mortgage.
