Newbie Investor Columbia Mo

Hello everyone at BP's!

My name is Jason Sowell (Soul). I'm pretty much a new investor living in Columbia MO.  I travel back and forth to Evansville IN, hometown to my wife Elaine.

I started in real estate in Evansville about 4 years ago having no clue what I was doing and it was a tough learning experience trying to do it on my own.  I moved to central MO for a job to earn money to invest in real estate so I could again quit my job.  As my career changed, I had nothing of a network established in Evansville and my class D properties were proving to be difficult to deal with.  I currently have those houses under contract to own, so the burden is virtually gone.

I'm new to the BiggerPockets community and I'm trying to not make the same mistake of just jumping into the "buy it and they will come" attitude I initially started with.

I went to school for engineering management but now work in electrical power operations. I dedicate most of my time to commuting and 12 hr swing shifts.  I try to listen to podcasts on that 1 hr commute and most of my free time I spend reading about real estate and business, or working on home improvements.  I am also trying to learn how to efficiently and effectively use the analysis tools available on BP.

As time goes on, I look forward to meeting and working with other investors here on BiggerPockets.  If anyone has any advice I would very much appreciate it, and If there is anything I can do to help you, lets talk and see what I can do to help.

Take care, and Best wishes!
