Hi. I'm new here. My name is Jamie and I'm trying to wrap my head around real estate investing. In particular, I'm looking to familiarize myself with the terms, risks, math and finer details of being a passive investor in real estate syndicates. I've been reading up on what I can find for existing syndicates as well as scouring YouTube for tutorials and explanations on things like IRR, waterfalls, and splits.

I have been investing and running my own money in the stock market for quite some time, so I am up on how to analyze a company to decide if it has potential as an investment. The real estate world seems, as a total noob, familiar but different to that!

If anyone is seeing this and can point me in the right direction on where to start, either on BiggerPockets or elsewhere, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

-Jamie.
