Hello everyone! I am a 34 year old who works in LA on live sports broadcasts. I had an amazing 2 bedroom apartment in mid city for $1600/mo split between 2 of us but when the building was sold last month we were bought out of our ridiculously affordable situation. I have been chatting with my girlfriend about moving in together anyway (she owns a house down in Long Beach) so my roommate, my girlfriend and myself have decided to start looking into whether or not a form of house hacking a multi unit building will be viable for us. We won't be able to get the mortgage covered since 3/4 of the units will be occupied by us, but any way we can start paying ourselves instead of someone else's mortgage seems to be the right way to go. Happy holidays to everyone who takes the time to read this and looking forward to jumping head first into this community and start learning all about how we are going to go about this the right way to cover ourselves legally and financially for this crazy idea.
