Newbie from Orange County, CA

Hi there, my name is Spencer Askin. I've been reading Bigger Pockets books, listening to the podcasts and webinars for the last year but am finally ready to make the jump into real estate investing. A little bit about myself - I am a musician and music teacher by trade, I play in an original band called Mega Low and a 90s tribute band called SEGA Genecide which has run a successful weekly 90s night for the past 8 years. We travel a lot for various beer festivals and corporate gigs which has given me an opportunity to see some awesome real estate markets outside of my local area. I also am the Program Director for a performance-based music school in San Juan Capistrano with nearly 200 students. If anyone has any questions about guitar, voice, songwriting, banjo, trumpet, bass or drums don't hesitate to ask! 

I first started thinking about REI because my brother in law owns a few properties in the Phoenix, AZ area as he went to college there. I really love the style and architecture of the southwest, and am hoping to make my first purchase in the Tuscon, AZ area in the next 90-120 days.
