First, I want to thank everyone in the forum for taking the time to give advice and help others work through problems . It is amazing to see so many people willing to help others that may one day become the competition.

A little about me...
I'm 27yo and live in Ft. Myers, Fl. I've been interested in real estate my whole life (my dad was a broker for about 20yrs and owned a few rentals). I began to get into investing about 3 years ago, looking to buy SFH to rent and hold. But I had a hard time finding deals that I could rent out that would not be a negative on my DTI preventing me from acquiring more properties. After months of searching I became discouraged and decided to just buy a house to move into. It is only by the grace of God, I was laid off and didn't get the house. I would have been stuck in the rat race working just to pay the bills. I was rehired and have been working almost a year now and am ready to give it another shot. I still live at home because I can't bring myself to pay rent or buy a place and not be able qualify for another. I'm currently thinking about getting a 4-plex so I can finally move out and still be able to qualify for more properties. Any advice, suggestions, or questions welcome.

I am thankful I found this site and for all of you who are so willing to help. I look forward to becoming a part of the community and building relationships with you.
