Newbie Registration - Hello!
Hello everyone! I'm Eric and my wife (April) and I are partners in this new real estate investing venture. I just wanted to introduce myself quickly and then ask a few important questions. I (Eric) have been reading and studying various real estate-related books since August of this year (2019). My wife and I have recently watched Brandon's webinar on How to Make $5000 a Month," and a recent "How to Get Started in Investing" and found them both very informative. I am now about half way done with Joshua and Brandon's great "How-to Get Started Investing" book, while at the same time reading the newest Real Estate Investing for Dummies, by Tyson and Griswold. Both seem to be great books; very informative, instructive, and motivating.
We are in the process of setting up our investing team, but would like some sage advice before we schedule our first meetings. First, is it best to meet with a real estate attorney first, then select a tax accountant and mortgage lender/broker? Or, does it not really matter. Our thinking is that the attorney may already be able to recommend a tax person who is fluent with real estate law, etc. Of course, a tax person may be able to recommend a good real estate attorney also, but I have some doubts about that approach. Second, once we select an attorney and a tax person, is it best to go with a mortgage broker, or loan officer? Maybe it depends on our strategy and initial tactics? Anyway, we'd love to hear from anyone well-versed with setting up a great investing team.
Our immediate goal is to purchase local properties best suited for AirBnB-type rentals and then later branch out into wholesaling and residential rentals.
At any rate, we've found the Biggerpockets resource to be a welcome addition to our pre-launch studies and business formation efforts! This is a site we'll be visiting and recommending often!
We hope to hear from those with experience soon!
