Mega Newbie Podcast Enthusiast from Vancouver BC

Hi everyone!

My name is Jen and I live in one of the most expensive cities on this planet. I got interested in the world of real estate this year (more like have taken it more seriously this year). It feels quite daunting that it is recommended to invest in the area that I am familiar with but it seems very unreachable since the prices are so high (Vancouver, BC). 

I have been listening to the Bigger Pockets Podcast every chance I get and have been gaining a lot of valuable insight. I decided to join the forum because it was mentioned in every episode (that subliminal marketing tho :P). 

I do not have any real experience with real estate at this point. I am at the analysis-paralysis-while-saving-up-for-a-down-payment type of situation. I currently have a career in the aviation industry and a side hustle which allows me to save a lot of my income.
