virtual wholesaling, real estate in the u.s from another country

I'm currently in the u.s from a different country trying to get into real estate.

can I actually do real estate in the u.s from a different country? 

I heard about this "virtual wholesaling" from Sean Terry, is it possible?

thinking about it If im looking up deals on zillow in a different state from where I am in the u.s I will have to close the deal "virtually"

right? is it the same as doing it from a different country?
