Never too late Newbie

Hello to everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving. I am a sixty-two year old newbie currently in the Los Angeles area. I have done a lot of things in My life including professional dancer, worked for Warner Bros., Dreamworks, and NBC as well as a couple dozen other jobs throughout my life. I was laid off from NBC about five years ago and currently work at Trader Joe's. I have lived in Madrid Spain, Milan and Verona Italy, and was based in Yokohama Japan for a year and a half while working on a Crystal Cruise ship cruising the world. The only direct experience I can see that I have to real estate is I have lived my entire adult life in apartments. While it has been a satisfying life so far it has not been a wealthy one.

In growing up my parents never discussed money. How much they made, how they made it, How to negotiate anything, it was a closed subject. So, I have been spending the last decade or so trying to learn success principals while working and taking care of my family. There's a lot out there but I feel like BP and Robert Kiyosaki give the strait scoop.

I am in my information gathering phase and loving all the webinars, articles, and resources available. After the New Year I'll start studying and really understanding all the numbers, analyzing properties, and building a network, oh and getting a pro membership.

My son graduates high school in June and we'll be moving out of California because it is just too expensive for us to live here anymore. As of right now, based on colleges he's been accepted to, we are looking at Idaho, Wyoming, and Ohio with a possibility of Washington (still waiting to hear). So I won't be ready to purchase until we know where he/we are headed. When we are ready my plan is to house hack a duplex with a FHA loan, then flip two houses (not at the same time), then begin BRRRR and stacking. Which should keep me busy for awhile (and may change as I learn and grow).

Would love to hear from you and what your up too.

@John Voors Welcome to BP.  Yes Los Angeles is a very expensive.  I love it here, but as a real estate investor, not so much.  I invest out of state.  Look like you have some great experiences.  I wish you the best on your new destination and journey.
