Newbie from Queens, NY looking to invest in the tri-state area

Hi All,

My name is Nicole Brodie and I was born and raised in Queens, NY. I am still relatively new to my real estate education but am very excited to join BiggerPockets and introduce myself to this great community! Since New York City is known for its high prices, I would like to focus on markets within the tri-state area (New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania) to get started with buying and holding properties to generate monthly cash flow. Flipping is also an interesting strategy that I could see myself jumping into when ready. Also, I am in the process of obtaining my real estate agent license as a first step into the world of real estate.

As a little background about me, I have a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the State University of New York at Albany (SUNY Albany). I currently work for a small Financial Services company in Manhattan's Financial District. I began my career with this company right out of college three and a half years ago beginning as the front desk receptionist. I worked hard, proved myself and have moved up to my current senior role in operations.

My ultimate goal is to obtain financial freedom through real estate investing. As of now, I am continuing to develop my education through the BiggerPockets website, podcast and also through reading books on the subject. I hope to join this BP community to learn even more from experienced people in this field so I can continue to grow and one day dive in to complete my first deal. Thank you for reading this post and I look forward to seeing where this real estate journey will take me!

Sincerely,

Nicole
