BRRRR Investing Beginner in Bucks County, PA

Hello everyone!

My name is Pétur Karlsson (just call me Peter). I'm a 25 year old Icelander who has been living in Bucks county, PA for close to three years. After listening to COUNTLESS bigger pockets podcasts and reading a whole lot of real estate investing and business related books, I'm on a mission to dive deep into RE investing in The united states as well as in Iceland!

I'm on Bigger Pockets to connect with all you awesome people, make friends, engage in discussions, share nuggets of wisdom and take life to the next level. I'm a business student, stay at home dad to a perfect little seven month old baby girl, stock investor and homeowner. I have a sizable amount of home equity that I plan to use to secure a HELOC for purchasing investment properties. My goal is to buy cash, then rehab, rent out, refinance and hold for the long term... BRRRR, here we come!

If you have experience using your primary residence to finance real estate investments, PLEASE let me know how it went down for you and if you'd recommend it or not. It's an intimidating move but the most cost effective way for me to fund the deal, which I then plan to refinance and pay off the HELOC anyway.
