Newbie to site and to Charlotte NC Investing

Hello all! I am living in the south Charlotte area and looking to start investing in real estate. I currently own a one bedroom condo with my fiancé and we are trying to learn as much as we can. Over the last six months I have been trying to read and learn while working my 9-5. I am looking to start joining some meet ups and learning more about investing in Charlotte. My current thought is to find a duplex although that seems pretty tough in this area. I am guessing the best way to start for me may be moving into single family and renting out my condo. If anyone has any suggestions, tips, wants to meet up, any kind of help getting starting, etc. let me know! Thanks, Stephen

@Stephen Foltin - before you got to the part where you mentioned moving from your condo and renting it, I was already thinking that. Of course, run numbers to make sure it cash flows taking into account mortgage payment, taxes, insurance, HOA fees, vacancy, turnovers, and maintenance.

Lots of info here about house hacking. The property you move to could be one that needs some love which is another opportunity for you.
