Hi all!
I wanted to formally introduce myself to the BP fam. I have been lurking the forums for about a month and have learned quite a bit from them as well as the podcasts. I am relatively new to the Orange County area. I moved from Las Vegas recently, where I lived for 3 years. Before that I spent nearly all of my life (22 years) in the Houston, Tx area.
A little about me; I am an ex financial advisor. I was in personal finance for 3 years and learned quite a bit. In doing so I had the opportunity to learn how others have built their wealth, and in doing so learned how a vast majority of smart investors use Real Estate to bypass taxes and get tax free income. This has definitely sparked my interest. I moved out to California after figuring out a career in personal finance wasn't what I wanted to do for the next 40 years of my life.
Some background on my personal life. I live with my girlfriend and our dog a mini poodle named Stella. I am a big sports fan mostly of my University of Houston Cougars and my Houston Astros (Go Stros!). I used to be a track and field athlete at the University of Houston as well.
Goal wise; I am looking to build a rental property portfolio that will help bring in passive income to where we are not relying on the 9-5 grind to make the bills each month. I like the idea of Multi-Family units and Apartment complexes. I believe there is a huge opportunity in these fields especially with the migration happening to lower taxed states. For us personally I don't believe California is a good area for us to invest in currently due to the high cost of mortgages.
All in all just wanted to say hi and I hope I can bring some value to the forums!
