MBA Student Looking for Employment in Real Estate
Hello All!
This post is part introduction, part employment idea request.
First, an introduction. My name is Cam Stewart, and I am currently a 2nd year MBA student at Boston University Questrom School of Business where I am also getting my MS in Digital Innovation. I have been official involved in real estate for a little over a year now, but the past few months have kicked my interest into full-blown passion. Part of that is in thanks to the BiggerPockets Podcast. Part of that is also that I am taking a Real Estate Management course right now, along with a Starting New Ventures course (basically a course that guides you through the earliest steps of a startup). Currently I (along with a partner) am searching in the Keene, NH area for a multi-family property, which we plan to BRRRR. There are many issues with this property, so we're doing our due diligence, but it currently clears the 1% rule with ease, and we believe we could approach 2% after some rehab.
Now, employment idea request. Before starting my MBA program, I worked in professional baseball in minor league video/stats/scouting roles. Because of the limited supply and high demand for those jobs, pay was extremely low. Since I will have two masters' degrees as of this coming May, I think it is important to apply my knowledge and establish my full value in the employment marketplace. I have great financial modeling skills, high attention to detail, and I'm a big proponent of data-driven decision making. Also, this will allow me to quickly get capital to grow my real estate portfolio.
My question is about whether anyone knows of rotational programs or LDPs with companies that are related to real estate. Primarily I have been focusing on banks and large commercial real estate companies.
I look forward to growing in my real estate venture with all of you.
Best,
- Cam Stewart

Personally, I would look for a small to medium size real estate syndication company and get in with them. You can make a bigger impact, grow with the company, and learn all the parts of the business. At big corporations you're just a face in the crowd.
