New to BP - Canadian looking to invest in the USA

Hi everyone, 

Just starting out here on the BP forums off of the advice of some family in the USA. I'm a Canadian and have started to do some research into potential investments in the USA / associated tax implications. 

Would love to connect with any individuals who have a similar background and may have already purchased their first (or multiple) US real estate investments.
