Seeking advice on how to best spend my time
Hello everyone,
My name is Connor Adams. I'm relatively new to Bigger Pockets, but have been learning about real estate investing for a little over two months now.
I've been diving into all of the available information on real estate investing online, and I believe I have a very good understanding of the basics. I'm now trying to figure out how I can best spend my time to prepare for closing on my first deal.
Some info on my current position:
-Graduating college this quarter. I will be seeking entry level project management positions, as I believe this will overlap well with buying fixer uppers and turning them into great rentals.
-I have one credit card that I've been paying down on time for the last 3 years. It only has a $250 limit. I'm not sure what my credit score is, but I've never been late on a payment.
-Not much money in the bank. It's looking like I'll be prepared to close on my first deal in about one year from now.
-I'm currently reading "The BRRRR Rental Property Investment Strategy Made Simple" by David Greene. I plan on reading "The Book on Estimating Rehab Costs" by J. Scott after I finish reading this one.
-I've began reaching out to several realtors, but feel bad because I'm not able to close on any deals any time soon. They're spending time on me by looking for deals that match my criteria, and I don't want to waste their time.
With all this being said, how do you all think I could be using my time to the fullest given my current position? Should I just keep reading books, or should I seek out people in the industry and build connections even though I can't deliver much at this time? Maybe I should be attending local investment clubs? Any and all advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Connor
