If I had to guess, it would be during the process of buying my first home. I was excited to find out I was pre-approved for a very low amount, I could finally buy a home just like everyone else.

Then the market got really hot (end of 2016). So almost immediately I couldn't afford anything I was pre-approved for. But I was determined to find something I could afford, and I started doing research on foreclosures and short sales, and just like that I fell in love with buying a fixer upper. Then came the research and Biggerpockets. Then came the house, and a lot of hard work fixing It up. Then came the equity. And I fell in love.
