Looking for a starting like into real estate

I’m currently 26 years old living on Long Island, my fathers been a land lord for over 40 years so I’ve seen it and have helped manage the properties since I’ve been able to hold a rake. I had my real estate license but let it expire that end of it really wasn’t for me. I may have have had too much going on with sub teaching, coaching and life etc. so I’m 26 living at home with little to no expenses and about 75k saved. I’m sure some of you know the market on long island is extremely expensive. I’m looking to buy a rental property. Ideally 2 families, legal. I am pretty handy and would be able to do pretty much all cosmetic work ( paint, laminate flooring, landscape ) By myself. Ive Been looking around but all the houses are way overpriced or huge overhauls. Any suggestions on where to start?
