Being an Agent in Colorado vs Alaska in terms of income potential

Ill start off by saying that I would say Im still new-ish to BP, didnt know wheere exactly to post this question on BP so I did here. If it should be moved, please feel free.

So the story goes, I am in Colorado at the moment, currently deciding where to move to. The overarching priority to me is income potential. With that said, there are two places I would pursue being a RE agent - Denver-metro & Anchorage-metro (not that there really is one). However, an agent here I spoke with and found by happenstance, said the market here, in CO, is oversaturated with agents. She, I think, is probably making in the 35-45k range and sounded somewhat disappointed. I didnt ask if she had paid adds or did any marketing for herself. Im fine with 35-45k to start but I want six figures by year two. And more after that, and so on.

Conversely, there is also Anchorage Alaska. But my concerns are that there is much less home-buying in general, and especially in the wintertime, and that with much more limited inventory, you may be capped at, say, 60k even in peak summer season.

So if anyone or any CO or AK agents can shed some light on this, it would be great.

You can succeed anywhere as an agent. However some things to keep in mind.

87% of people who become agents fail out of the industry altogether.

$45-50k is the median income of people in the industry.

3, that will be likely the first year you turn a profit just like every other small business.
