Hello BiggerPockets,

My name is Cameron…and I’m a google warrior.
Alright, glad I got that out of the way.

Anyways, I stumbled upon BP while googling for information on real estate investments (REI). BP definitely seems like a great resource and place to learn from people all around.

I have an engineering background and have been working in the industry for about 4 years.
In college, a buddy and I made a blood pact to do a business together. (we didn’t really make a blood pact..)
Anyways, we got back together after college and decided to give REI a try. We talked about the scope of our business and concluded we will focus on buying and holding.

My REI journey literally began February 02, 2012. Me and my buddy put an offer on a duplex which was accepted.
Unfortunately, we’re still going through escrow at the 40+ day mark…I got a baddie for a lender… ?
This is somewhat scary for me…I’ve never really invested a large lump sum before.

We’re completely new to this scene, and we’re taking it one step at a time.
Next step for me is getting a well written rental agreement, and learning about section 8.

I also started a blog to track our progress and help me reflect on some of the successes and failures I will encounter.
