New to the Real estate game

Whats up guys. I have written a couple post on this site but I wanted to formally introduce myself to this amazing community. My name is Woodly, and I am from Waltham Massachusetts, I am 26 years old, and I am looking to invest in real estate. The type of real estate that I want to get into is buy and hold of duplex, triplex, or  fourplex. Multifamily investing. My first goal in my real estate journey is to house hack. I want to live essentially for free in the first property I buy. Where I live is very expensive so finding a deal will be challenging, so I'd most likely look elsewhere in Massachusetts. Boston is very expensive. Currently I am educating myself with books, Youtube videos, and the bigger pockets podcast. I have read some of the books highlighted on these podcast such as the "richest man in Babylon"and "the book on investing in real estate with little to no money down" by my man Brandon Turner. I am currently reading "The book on rental property investing'", also by Brandon Turner, and I am learning a whole lot from this amazing book. The podcast have been very helpful with all the different people they interview  who I can relate to, who are succeeding in the field that I want to succeed in. I graduated college with a Finance degree so I have always been into numbers and investing. I invest in stocks, and ETFS, and have a good understanding of what it takes to invest. Now I want to take it to the next level with real estate. I love the value real estate investing can bring to an individual if done smartly. The reason why I want to get into real estate investing is that I want to live a life of little financial worries. Life is already hard enough. I want to be able to provide for my future family, and have them be able to do things I was not able to do when I was young because of finances. I also inspire to live a life where I don't have to work a typical 9-5. I don't like being told what time to wake up, what time to have lunch, what time to leave, etc. With Real estate investing I would love to get to a point where I do not need a full time job, and for investing to be my main gig. That will take a lot of work but i'm willing to learn all I need to, just to get to that point. I believe that is when life will be at its best. I don't need to be a millionaire, I just want to live life on my note. Working 9-5 you have little control. So, right now I am young and willing to put in work to save up money to fund my future deals. I work my butt off working 40 hours a week, and also doing Lyft on the side. I live at home with momma and papa bear which has allowed me to save money. This is all part of the plan.

I am glad that I was able to join this community, and I have been reading the blogs, post in the forums, guides, and everything that this site has to offer. I look forward to getting to know each one of you that participate in this community, and I look forward to learning from you guys also. Y'all bring some great insight, and i'm extremely grateful for all the information I consume in here. I wish y'all the best and look forward to my real estate journey.

Keep Elevating,

Woodly
