This is my beginning! Goals to be set!
Hello BiggerPockets people,
I'm 32 years old, working in Newport Beach, CA as a commercial real estate acquisition/asset management analyst. Out of college, I started my career as a CPA working in one of the Big 4 national accounting firms, but I ultimately disliked providing information/support to the decision makers. I wanted to be the decision maker! It has been difficult to pivot my career into the path of my passion, being real estate investing. I love working with the team I'm on now, analyzing and managing large real estate deals.
What I feel missing in my life though is this: although I am doing what I love, I'm still not the one really owning the deal. You see, I work on various REITs where people invest there moneys. I, along with my team, help these people achieve desired returns through our real estate investing decisions. I guess what I'm saying is that I want to make these decisions for my own returns, not for someone else's. I love analyzing deals, and being able to make investments work. Its like magic to me.
It is my hope that as I educate myself, listen to the podcasts, read tons of books and continue to chime in the Forums that I'll be able to do this on a personal level; to get the personal returns, and make the personal magic.
Let me know if you have similar passions, and maybe we can think of ways to push each other along.
Thanks,
