Hello Everyone! I actually found BiggerPockets years ago and actually was part of my original research when I was trying to discover what I wanted to do and how I was going to get there. I started getting interested in real estate when I was young. I want to say when I was about 19 as a freshmen in college. I had worked for my father as a finish Carpenter on and off since I was 13 at this point. I loved it but I wanted to use this knowledge to push myself further and I had no dreams of swinging a hammer for the rest of my life. From there a I had a small pause because of some personal hurtles I had to get over but long story short this is where I rented my first apartment. I found that the landlords in my area were either stretched to thin or just didn't want to put much effort into their investments. I lived in apartments or saw my friends live in apartments where things were fixed barely and the house itself wasn't kept up. Now I can blame this on the fact that it was a college area and the tenants didn't care what the place looked like or damaged it often. But, there was definitely a problem in the local market that I saw. I wanted to help. I had the knowledge of how to upkeep a home and I just needed to find out what I didn't know. So through tons of research I stumbled upon property management and I think this is where it really started to take shape. I found a business partner and now we are actively doing business with 3 clients and 5 units in the 6 months that we have been open. This has been achieved mostly from word of mouth and we have had the ability to learn a ton because of it. We now actively look for more ability to advertise and work with great investors. Personally I read as many books as possible about real estate and business. I have a bachelors in Business and love networking with people of like mind. I'm also a huge nerd for podcasts and I'm pretty sure I've listened to about half the BiggerPockets podcast. I look forward to speaking and getting to know as many of you as possible!
