Grad student new to real estate interested in sacramento
Hello everyone!
My name is Jeremy Andrews and I am new to this website. My wife and I are currently graduate students in the bay area. Audiology and physical therapy respectively. We both have a passion for helping others, which lead us to our careers. Unfortunately for us, the salaries we anticipate on making will not be enough to get us away from our student loans.
Currently I am at a clinical rotation for 8 weeks which requires 2 hours of commuting a day (yay bay area). I saw this as an opportunity to educate myself on a topic I have always been interested in, real estate investing (REI). I have been bouncing around the BiggerPockets podcast for the past 4 weeks and am finally taking the step to make my initial post!
After having listened to the podcast and its various guest, I have glimed some tips that will helpfully inform my trajectory in REI.
1) My ultimate goal is to replace my wife's salary within 10 years so that we can replace the time she works with time spent with our kids (don't have them yet but we plan on trying it November so fingers crossed!)
2) Based off the different approaches to REI, I think BRRRR sounds the most appealing. I anticipate this being our method of investing to catapult us into the place we want to be.
3) We want to explore the sacramento market. This is where we plan on moving after graduation next year and both absolutely love the area.
Anyways, thanks in advance for taking the time to reading my post and I look forward to saying hello!
