TL;DR at the end if you don't feel like reading about my life story.

I've been interested in RE since I was 15. My plan B if I wasn't accepted to college was to become a real estate agent, and later a broker.

To my surprise (I never considered myself a good scholar), I was accepted into both Universities I applied for. University of Florida, and Florida State University. The reason for this was because I was accepted as a transfer student, due to my high school's dual enrollment program. I graduated HS with an AA degree. I decided to go with UF, and you have to understand I was very surprised I got in at all. I put RE on the back burner to focus on school and making new friends.

Unfortunately for me, because I was only accepted as a transfer, and because I lacked a significant number of prerequisite classes for other majors, I was forced to choose between Advertising or Public Relations majors in the College of Journalism. I only lasted two and a half semesters before I couldn't bear the major I was in any longer. I had no interest in Ads or PR, and the classes were excruciating. They felt hilariously pointless. I gave up and let my grades slip, and I've since had my record expunged of all failings so that in the future, if I wanted to go back, I could.

I'm 21 now. In the years between then and now I had to focus on my mental health before I could be productive in any field. I spent a lot of time trying to learn anything I could to shake the guilt of being a college dropout and stagnating. I was clinically depressed from my time at college, and anxious to be productive.

In July 2018 I was diagnosed with ADHD, inattentive type. Suddenly, looking back, it explained all my apprehension towards school and "putting my nose to the grindstone" so to speak. No one suspected I had ADHD growing up because I was effortlessly a B student. A sure-fire sign of ADHD in kids is hyperactivity; squirming, restlessness, insomnia, emotional outbursts, and the like. I never displayed any of those symptoms, so I flew under the radar. I've since been medicated and what they say is true: ADHD medication is one of the very few that IS a magic bullet for a significant portion of those diagnosed. It gave me the piece of what makes a successful person that I had been missing: dedication.

Since then I'd been teaching myself coding and cyber security, working towards earning certifications. I always had an interest in computers, and it was a career path that paid well and didn't require a college degree to enter. For some reason, I had completely forgotten about the affinity I had towards RE in HS.

That is, until about a month ago. I was browsing youtube videos about earning money when one caught my eye. It was by a man named Ron LeGrand about the various ways to earn money as a newbie in RE. I of course was skeptical, as I am towards all people who sell motivation and big promises. However, he was only charging $1 for his complete guide to wholesaling, along with six 30-60 minute recordings of one of his seminars. I later found out that he used to (or still does) sell tickets to his seminars for absurd amounts of money, and I didn't like that.

But the damage had already been done (in a good way). I was out $1, but his guide reignited the passion I had for RE again. He was the first domino to fall. It lead me to learn more about RE, and take action. I've since been working towards my first wholesale. I found this site and have been lurking for about a week before I decided to become a member. That brings us to today, as I make my first moves to start networking.

TL;DR: I'm Maxwell Castle, a 21 year old college dropout. I'm focusing on wholesaling now, but plan to do more as my capital grows. I look forward to meeting you all, and I wish us all the best of luck in our pursuits.
