Hey BP,

My name is Brad Hunter and I'm excited to be joining this awesome community you all call BiggerPockets. I live in Alexandria, VA and have been consulting government agencies for the last 10 years within the IT space as a Project Manager, agile coach, and business development account lead. I bought a townhouse near Del Ray, Alexandria 2 years ago (pre-real estate obsession) and while the rents may never cover the mortgage, appreciation has been solid and should continue to increase thanks to a metro coming in 2021 within a 1/4 mile of my house and Amazon HQ2 about 5 minutes up the street.

My story seems similar to many of you on the BP podcast and on the forums: work for the man, chase the carrot and get close enough to almost taste it, get burnt out (repeat X5), become enlightened (thanks Rich Dad!), find out about BP, become obsessed and listen to podcasts during all free times, read books/blogs/articles, latch onto different strategies and come up with plans to execute and do nothing (repeat 5x), realize you can't "boil the ocean", and then take a step back, break down the to do list in an executable fashion and move forward. Still working on the execution, but I'm making progress in a number of areas - education, networking, and building RE related skill-sets.

I plan on doing some flips in the Alexandria/Northern VA area with partners who have a proven track record, build up some capital and continue to work towards getting into the multi-family space in locations where the numbers work.

My goals are to replace me and my wife's current salaries through multi-family repositioning buy and holds in the next 8 years so we can spend more time with family and friends, travel, ski, hike, and give back to our local communities.

Here are skill-sets of mine that I've built over the last 10 years that I think will translate well into the RE industry: project management, business development / selling, building successful teams, financial analysis, stakeholder management, strategic planning and roadmapping, and process improvement.

Super pumped to be here and looking forward to learning, building relationships and working with you. If you're local in the DC metro area, shoot me a message and let's grab coffee. I attend meetups in Northern VA, so if you're going ping me and we can link up.

Cheers,

Brad
