New to Real Estate Investing as well as this Forum

Hi everyone. My name is Jim Dickinson and I am pretty new to real estate investing--in my opinion. Many years ago, I bought Carlton Sheets' No Money Down kit, and gave it a whirl. I didn't like going into discussions with sellers and having them get upset with me for trying to buy their property without any of my own money. They were quick to put up defenses when they saw me coming.

Later, after marrying my wife, who has been a real estate agent, I got involved with her a little bit in Nuveau Riche. We didn't care for that either since it was a lot more about selling "education" than property. Again, we didn't stay with that.

Together we have wanted to get involved with real estate investing, but it seems that the saying is more true than not that "it takes money to make money." That has been a big frustration for us, especially when we hear so often that people are buying and selling properties without using any of their own money.

I recently got involved with a very successful real estate investor as their webmaster and affiliate program manager (which is coming soon). They offer a very exciting monthly "Boot Camp" where students each walk away from the weekend with a property that profits them $50,000...or they can just sell the assignment on eBay for a smaller profit. At first this sounded a lot like "selling education" again...but I am seeing students actually walking away with gigantic grins on their faces because they just turned their $10,000 Boot Camp fee into a lot more money.

So I am here to actually learn a lot more than I can share right now, but perhaps as time goes on, I will be able to contribute more helpfully.

I am glad to see a good forum like this one. Thanks to the Admins for offering it for our use!

Best Regards,
Jim
