Introducing ourselves to BP

Hello BP!

My husband Nathan and I (Holly) are newbies to the world of REI. We have recently discovered BP and are amazed by all the quality information that is here on the site. We have and currently been studying up on real estate. We have been reading books like; Brandon Turner's The Book on Rental Property Investing, David Greene's Long Distance Real Estate Investing, and John Schaub's Building Wealth One House At A Time. Also, we are avid BP podcast listeners. Learning about all of the different strategies and forms of investments, we have narrowed our focus down to buy and hold rental property. We are still in the saving phase but hope to be able to pull the trigger on our first property before the year ends.

We live in Southern California and both work 9-5 jobs. Because the market here is so expensive we are now starting to do a bit of research to be able to find a market we would like to invest in out of state. Aiming for a market with landlord friendly laws and low state taxes. As of right now with limited market analysis, we are looking into Orlando, FL. Does anyone have any recommendations on what markets to start looking into?

We both look forward to building our network and making new friends. We are very excited (as a lot of newbies are) to get started and jump into this world. Thank you for the chance to introduce ourselves and for the quality information that is provided on this site.
