College Student at UGA and newbie to BP

Jeremy Rusch
Posted

Hello BP!

My name is Jeremy and I am a junior at the University of Georgia. I am a financial planning major with a certificate in informatics and data processing.

I've been listening to the BP podcast and lurking the forums for a while now, and I have come to the conclusion I am obsessed. I crank out three or four podcasts a day just by listening to them while walking to class, working out, or in the car. Everyday I wish I could be done with school so I can go out, get a job, and start investing in real estate. However, I know I should not just jump into this so quickly so I just ordered Set For Life by Scott Trench and BP's book on Rental property investing!

Background:

My whole life I've grown up around real estate investing. My father owns and manages a portfolio of around 20 properties around the greater Atlanta area. This is the core reason my father was able to retire at the crisp age of 45 and I look up to him everyday for that. Growing up helping my dad manage these properties gave me valuable skills I would not be able to get elsewhere. You name it, I've built it or I've fixed it.

I really enjoy BP because learning about real estate just makes sense to me and I can't wait to learn more.

@Jeremy Rusch welcome! Awesome that you're getting started learning so early. I tell everyone I wish I would've been learning REI more while I was at University of Florida. While I was there, I remember looking at my landlord's portfolio of rentals on his website and wanting to get into it too. Good luck, feel free to reach out if you have any questions. My wife and I are a few years out of school and have done a few deals. Time is on your side, that's for sure.
