Hello everyone, my name is Ricardo Gomez, and I am from Calexico, California. I am currently a college student majoring in business administration, and specializing in finances. It's my goal to achieve financial freedom, so I can live my life on my own terms. What got me interested in real estate investing was my mother. One day when I was 16 my mother gave me a book called Rich Dad Poor Dad for teens. After reading the book my mindset of how I saw money, public education, and debt completely changed. She also gave me other books to read pertaining to real estate investing. I found out about BiggerPockets after reading Dave Van Horn's book on Real Estate Note Investing. Thank you for reading.

Your mother is a very smart lady, I don't think she could have given you a better first book! Rich Dad Poor Dad changed my life as well. Its amazing how blinded we all can be to what is really possible if we don't succumb to the typical mantra "Work hard, get a good job to make a living, etc". I too am wanting to achieve financial independence so I can live how I choose and not be chained to the rat race.
