rookie in the rental real estate market
Hello, I am a 29 year old reading the Brendon Turner book on rental property investing. Although the book is very interesting and informative, I am skeptical. Am i naive to believe that renting properties in NYC with little to no liquidity is impossible? Brandon talks about all this success in the midwest, but NYC is a different beast in my opinion. For 100k you pretty much wouldn't get a bucket to spit in. Am I wrong? Can someone please with knowledge of the NYC real estate market please prove me wrong and maybe advise me a bit. Or maybe even offer an alternative that potential real estate investors in NYC can be successful in. Keep in mind that liquidity is low and everything would pretty much have to be done through potential leverage.
