Newbie in Cleveland Ohio. Just purchased our first Duplex!

Hello All,

My Wife and I closed on our first rental property (Duplex) in Cleveland OH in December 2018! I’m a Project Manager for a major food and beverage company and relocated to the area in July 2018. We rented in downtown Cleveland and came to enjoy the area so we bought a house! Before the purchase I did a ton of research and found a lot of value in Bigger Pockets. The transparency is unbelievable and super helpful for first time home buyers like us!

We are “House Hacking” and completing a lot of the renovations by ourselves. Luckily we’ve only needed to do some cosmetic upgrades. So far we have installed flooring, painted throughout, painted the kitchen cabinets and some other cosmetic changes. Our current goal is to buy at least one property a year. We are looking for a 4 unit then plan to get into larger properties and long distance. I’ve also been learning as much as I can about investing in Notes but honestly it’s a bit confusing.
