New BP user introduction from Portland Oregon

Ryan Jefferis
Posted

BP newbie here taking the leap into online RE networking.  I typically just use forums for info (aka lurker) yet opening myself up to where BP involvement might take me.

Became an accidental landlord in 2010 while moving internationally for an expat assignment. Best accident ever as that property went from nearly no equity in 2010 after the crash to nearly 2x original purchase price with renters paying my PITI for all but 2.5 months since.

Looking to pick up some buy & holds yet Portland and surrounding markets don't appear to support positive cash flow, at least what I have found.  I have listened to about 20 of the BP podcasts and I laugh out loud when I hear numbers well below $100k for units with monthly rent not far off from what Portland area provides...time to focus on out of market I think.
