Where to start as a student.

Hi, I'm a University student based in Edmonton and I'm coming to my senses that I need to start looking for a passive income that I can put my spare time into. I want to accomplish my retirement goals I'm gonna have to start making more than just my income at the moment. I've done a little research but having a little trouble as to where to start. As a student, I have some savings but I don't want to blow it all on one property. Is there any recommendations on where to start with such little starting cash.
