Hi there. So this is my very first post here and I've been voraciously reading everything real estate investing for the past week (so I'm VERY new to the idea). Although I'm new to the investment business side of things, I'm not so new at landlording. I'm currently renting out my home in Cypress, Texas after relocating to South Florida for a job opportunity. Unfortunately, the property in Texas is underwater simply because the home we built was too expensive to sell at what we wanted and so we opted to rent it out instead. So, in essence, we're losing money every month on the deal. But that hasn't detracted me from pursuing my investment goals. Now I know what NOT to do and failures only serve to educate oneself anyway, right?

I'm setting my sights on buy and hold properties anywhere I can find them. Since I'm currently long-distance investing and find it extremely doable, I aim to keep this strategy. I have a very aggressive investment plan and my husband, although very supportive and ready to join me in this journey, is not as confident that we'll meet my 12-year plan. But I have no doubt I will succeed - I'm a hungry millennial and a natural overachiever ;)

As an executive at a large financial institution, I make a very good income and I plan to save a good chunk before buying my first MFH property (or 2nd property I suppose). Before I realized real estate investing was what I was born for, my husband and I decided to build a new home in South Florida just this past summer. So unfortunately, a lot of our liquid cash will go towards the down-payment and closing costs of that property. Bummer. But I will still be able to save a good amount of capital to invest anyhow.

In conclusion, I'm so glad to have found BP and hope to make many connections here. Thanks for reading!
